This is a motto that has existed for many centuries in the Gonzalez lineage. Paul is very proud to have inherited this motto, and has lived by it since the day he started playing music.

In The Field of Performance...

Paul has earned numerous awards which include Regional and State Winner of the P.A.S. International Drumset Competition (1991), Gretsch Drums Endorsement, AQUARIAN Drum Heads Endorsement, Regal Tip Endorsement, Gibraltar Hardware Endorsement, LP Percussion Endorsement, Rhythm Tech Hardware, Berklee College of Music Percussion Department Achievement Award, Berklee B.E.S.T. and B.A.S. Scholarships, Most Outstanding Freshman, Junior, and Senior Musician Awards at Sam Houston State University, and making the Texas All State Band/Orchestra 3 out of his 4 years in High School.

Paul has had the honor of performing, touring, and or recording with many artists including: The Rembrandts, Chaka Khan, Nelly Furtado, All 4 One, Sheila E, Richie Kotzen, Wynonna Judd, Gloria Estefan, Thalia, Jose Feliciano, Narada Michael Walden, Joy Enriquez, Jon Secada, Cristian Castro, Louie Shelton, Carlos Vives, Jorge Calandrelli, Tony Campise, Brian McKnight, Lonnie Jordan, DJ Kane, Taylor Hicks, Nicho Hinojosa, Cherie, Ziggy Marley, Shaila Durcal, and Paulina Rubio. Paul has numerous live Television performances including: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, "In Performance" at the White House,The Latin Grammys, CD USA, MTV, The US Open, MUN2, Vina Del Mar, Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Hoy, Ritmo Internacional, and Conciertos Clandestinos.

In The Field of Composition...

Paul scored the movie; E.L.M. - Entry Level Male, composed a 3-D animation short for the Motion Syndicate animation company (featuring scenes from Tekken 3), received an honorable mention in the PAS International Drumset Composition Contest (1991), composed music for Sam Houston State University (TX), Deer Park HS (TX), Huntsville HS (TX), Clear Brook HS (TX), and NorwoodHS (MA), Rivera HS (TX), and was commissioned to compose a percussion ensemble piece by the Brownsville Independent School District in Texas. Paul has several TV commercialand show cues, including work for Univision, UPN show 7 Days, CSI, CSI - Miami, and the FOX show Johnny Zero.

Paul has three published works with Row-Loff Productions: Bump Thump, Blast Off, and Flying Start.

In The Field of Education...

Paul has taught numerous High Schools and competitive groups which include: East Coast Jazz Drum and Bugle Corp, Norwood HS (1998 WGI New England Scholastic Open Indoor Marching Percussion Champions), Deer Park HS, Clear Brook HS, Clear Lake HS, Huntsville HS, and the Murray Hill Drum and Bugle Corp. He received the C.R. Hackney Award for Music Education. Paul has judged many Texas U.I.L. events including Solo and Ensemble Contests, High School Region Orchestra and Band Tryouts, and High School All-StateJazz Tryouts. He was chosen to teach the Massachusetts Lion’s Club All-StateBand (1996), and co-taught the Sugar Bowl Half Time Marching Band with Fred Sanford (1994). Paul is currently composing music for Rivera HS in Brownsville TX.

Paul has a B.M. in Music Education from Sam Houston State University, and a B.M. in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music (Summa Cum Laude). Paul is an Honor’s Graduate from Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas.
